What shipped for lawyers, part 2: hand off a complete file

ShareLinkedInXFacebook

A case file is only useful once it can leave the firm. Part 2 is the export: what a lawyer sends to counsel, to the court or to the client, and how they keep track of it.

Part 2 in eighteen seconds. Five documents become one numbered bundle, with a link for each recipient. Turn the sound on to hear it.

Two files

The memorandum exports as an editable Word document. The proofs export as one PDF, Bates-numbered, with a bilingual cover and an exhibit index.

Exhibit letters freeze on the first export, so a document that was Exhibit C stays Exhibit C in every later version.

A link for each recipient

Each recipient gets their own link, behind an access gate, with the recipient view in English or Arabic. The firm sees each open and download, and can revoke one recipient's link without touching the others.

Documents as they are

A recipient can also download the original files in one zip, next to the numbered bundle. The full client conversation downloads as a plain text file, for the record.

See it working

Next in the series: an intake that works at the client's pace.
