SIDQO
Power of Attorney

Let someone act for you, only as far as you choose

Tell Sidqo who you are appointing and what they may do. It drafts a power of attorney with clear limits, ready to take to a UAE notary.

Ask SidqoPOA

Who do you want to act for you, and what do you need them to do?

Or start with

Sidqo asks a few questions, then writes the power of attorney for you to read and change. Private to your account.

Questions that come up before a power of attorney

What if they go beyond what I meant?
A special power of attorney lists each act they may do, and nothing more. Sidqo writes the limits in plain words.
I'm abroad. How do I get it signed?
Signing abroad adds a step: notarise it where you are, then have it attested for use in the UAE.
Can I cancel it later?
Yes. You can revoke a power of attorney through a notary. The draft says when it ends and how you can end it sooner.
Do I have to share my ID numbers?
Not with Sidqo. The draft leaves spaces for your passport and Emirates ID numbers, and you fill them in yourself.
How it works

A conversation, then a draft

  1. 1

    Answer in your own words

Sidqo asks one or two questions at a time. Give it several facts at once and it only asks for what is missing.

  2. 2

    Watch the checklist fill in

Each answer lands on the checklist beside the conversation, so you see what is covered and what is left.

  3. 3

Get the draft, then change it

Press “Write my POA”. Read the draft, ask for any change in plain words, and download it as a Word file.

What Sidqo will ask

What goes into your power of attorney

These are the points Sidqo works through with you. Anything you leave open stays visible in the draft in [brackets], so nothing is quietly guessed.

  1. You

Your full name and nationality. The draft leaves spaces for your ID numbers.

  2. Your attorney

Who you are appointing, and a backup if you want one.

  3. General or special

Whether they act for you broadly, or for one task only.

  4. What they may do

Each act they may do: sign, sell, collect, appear before an authority.

  5. Limits

What they may not do, such as selling below a price or handing the power to someone else.

  6. How long it lasts

An end date, or until the task is done, and how you can cancel it.

  7. Where it will be used

The emirate and the authorities, such as the land department, RTA or a court.

  3. Notarise it

Sign before a UAE notary public, in person or through the courts' online notary services. Abroad, notarise it there and have it attested for UAE use.

  4. Hand it over

Give the notarised original to your attorney and keep a copy for yourself.

Questions

About your power of attorney

What is the difference between a general and a special power of attorney?

A general power of attorney lets your attorney act for you across many matters. A special one covers named tasks only, such as selling one car. Choose special when the task is specific.

Does a power of attorney need to be notarised in the UAE?

Yes. Banks, authorities and courts rely on a POA once a UAE notary public has notarised it, or once it has been notarised abroad and attested for use in the UAE.

Does it have to be in Arabic?

UAE notaries work with Arabic or bilingual documents. An English draft needs a certified legal translation before notarisation.

Can I revoke a power of attorney?

Yes. Revoke it through a notary, then tell your attorney and anyone who relies on it, such as your bank.

Can a POA be used to sell property in Dubai?

Yes, if it clearly grants the power to sell and identifies the property. Check the Dubai Land Department's current requirements before you sign.

Is this legal advice?

No. Sidqo provides legal information and drafts from what you tell it. For a general POA or a property sale, consider a lawyer's review before notarisation.

Start with who and what

Name the person and the task. Sidqo asks about limits and dates next.

Sidqo provides legal information, not legal representation. Drafts are written by AI from what you tell it and are not reviewed by a lawyer. For a high-value or contested matter, have a UAE lawyer read the draft before you sign or file it.
